Normal for Canada Post

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

A story about Canada Post trying to deliver mail 68 years after it’s posted.

Source here: It’s in the mail – 68 years later.

Now I’m sure there are a few competent people at Canada Post and sometimes Express Post works well but regular post form the US takes up to three weeks sometimes which can’t be explained away by customs and there are just too many stories of stupidity and incompetence coming out of that outfit.

Some other examples:

1 – Tall Order (this one really irks me, an 80 year old on oxygen can go up a 12″ inch step but the unionized postal worker won’t).

2 – To Anyone, Anytime

3 – My Canada Post Guy is a Retard

My conclusion is that unions flip up everything.

Original story here:

This guy would be almost funny if he wasn’t spewing such tripe.

He says: “And yes, I still eat meat, which I buy at a supermarket. And yes, that makes me a shameless hypocrite. I’m trying to quit.”

I say: “Okay, so you’re a hypocrite, but just to be sure you understand that admitting it doesn’t make it ok and that by itself guarantees no one will take you seriously. Not sure why buying it at a supermarket is considered ok (my wife use to work in that industry and if you ever saw it first hand you’d become an instant vegetarian) whereas hunting is somehow evil. Someone cry one too many times after watching Bambi?”

He says: “There’s no need to go out and actively track down dinner, unless you’re one of the few thousand people left on the planet who are legitimate hunter/gatherers.”

I say: “Who the flip are you to decide what need is? People need shelter, water, and food in that order; nothing else is a need. Based on that fact alone ethical hunting trumps tofu or a double soy decaf latte with a twist of lime any day of the week.

And just because I’m feeling in a particularly ranty mood today; ethical hunting is more civilized, green (yes green), and healthier than your tofu or supermarket meat ever will be. Did you ever stop to think where tofu comes from and how it’s made? Probably not, you’d be surprised. I’ll make it easy, look here.”

Go back to you tofu and keep your silly opinions to yourself.
